Ecce Homo — Catholic Christ Tote

The composition pairs large, near-black serif typography with a heavily degraded, frontal image of a human figure made legible as Christ through the accompanying inscriptions: “Ecce Homo” and the smaller uppercase Latin phrase “QUI TOLLIS PECCATA MUNDI.” The artwork is dominated by a pale turquoise / powder-blue field; the figure is partially obscured by bleaching, abrasion, and uneven pigment, producing a worn archival-photograph effect. 

Strong white scuffed marks and irregular borders interrupt the geometric composition, while the head near the vertical center functions as the visual focal point. The piece reads as a modern editorial take on Passion imagery. Solemn, contemplative, and quietly sacred.
